Working With Resorts In The United States, Mexico, And Caribbean

What Personal Information We Collect and Why?

1. COMMENTS

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the information displayed in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and a number of review agency links to detect spam.

An anonymous string created from your email address (also called a hash) can be given to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Gravatar’s privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.

Once your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

2. MEDIA

If you upload images to a website, you should avoid sending images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Site visitors can download and extract all location data from images on the site.

3. CONTACT FORM

If you leave a comment on our website, you can authorize the storage of your name, email address and website in cookies. This is because of you, so you don’t have to re-enter your information when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for a year.

If you have an account and sign in to this page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain personal information and is rejected when you close your browser.

When you sign in, we will also set up a few cookies to store your login information and screen selection. Login cookies last for two days, and screen option cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember me”, your application will take two weeks. If you sign out of your account, your login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie does not contain personal information and simply identifies the ID of the article you just edited. Expires after 1 day.

4. CONTENT FROM OTHER WEBSITES

Articles on this page may contain embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other sites behaves in the same way as if a visitor had visited another site.

These sites may collect information about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and track your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

5. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR DATA

If you leave a comment, that comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so that we can automatically recognize and approve any subsequent comments instead of keeping them in line for moderation.

For users who register on our site (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (unless they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also view and edit this information.

6. WHAT RIGHTS DO YOU HAVE REGARDING YOUR DATA

If you have an account on our site or have left comments, you may request that we receive an exported file of personal information we hold about you, including any information you have provided to us. You may also request that we delete all personal information we hold about you. This does not include data that we are required to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

7. WHERE WE SEND YOUR INFORMATION

Visitor comments can be checked through the automated spam detection service.
